The problem with having 4 papers under review?

Some are bound to come back as R&Rs before you have the time or are ready to do the revisions.

I must remember not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I wish I'd have that problem.

Bad typo in that previous comment. Anyway...having lots of stuff under review can either be due to a slow review process at one or more journals and/or finding yourself in the situation of having several articles near completion at once.

Really, you don't want to have lots under review at once (though Munger says all junior faculty should have 3 at a time) because you want to keep a revolving door of articles in and out of your office.

In my case, I got a back log of papers that all needed just a few revisions before being sent out (again, in some cases), so they piled up. This is not ideal. At least 2 of the 4 should have been already reviewed and published by now.
